January 18, 2023 — Earlier this month Public Domain Publishing launched two new local newspapers: The Long Beach Pub and The Hawai'i Pub. The papers use a breakthrough technology stack unlike any the world has seen before. Even in their early iterations, the response to the papers has been overwhelming. Already people are launching newspapers using the same software across the world.
In an effort to more effectively bring this breakthrough technology and business model to communities around the world, Public Domain Publishing Inc. is launching a new newspaper franchise program. Entrepreneurs interested in starting their own newspaper business can email franchise@pd.pub for a price sheet.

[BRECK TODO]
Lack of a well defined business model.
Bus factor risks.
Our habit of telling everyone, especially our competitors, exactly what we are going to do.
Encouraging more people to compete against us. Even helping them with their code.
Not owning any property except for some domains.
Not even owning our shortest domain (PLDB.com), but instead leasing it from Venture.com.
Not having read the lease agreement in the above lease.
Not having read any multipage legal agreement we have been a party to.
Not believing in interviews.
Not having any employees nor have any plans to have employees.
No benefits plan.
No actual office just a coworking space.
Prioritizing talking to customers over everything else.
Lack of investment in any type of cyber security.
Not providing work email addresses to team members.
A lack of any team onboarding process.
Not having NDAs.
Nor IP assignment agreements.
Not believing in the concept of IP at all (Imaginary Property).
Frequent outburts directed at billionaires, government leaders, military leaders, and interns who accidentally sent us a spam message one time.
Not valuing our investors.
No plans to off shore revenues or engage in any complicated tax reduction strategies.
Explicitly telling our investors that they should mark their investments zero.
Horribly inappropirate jokes about the msot offensive topics.
Not knowing the real names, ages, genders, ethnicities, locations, or even countries of our team members.
No loyalty to our team and ready to let anyone go at any time.
But not even letting people go since we don't have any agreements just telling them we will no longer pay them.
Propensity of our founder to focus on adding, not reducing, new risk factors.

We found a path. A path to a new world, radically different and more advanced.
We are looking for fellow adventurers to help us lead civilization there.
In this new world computer languages are far faster, more advanced, yet simpler and more human. In this new world every child has access to humanity's best information. And in this new world the Freedom to Publish is guaranteed by an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
To convince the world this is where we want to be, we are building revolutionary products from this future world here in the present. Our products are different in 3 ways:
This will be a long journey. It is not clear whether it will take four years or fourteen. Along the way we will require the efforts of a brilliant and courageous team. We will require innovative leaders across engineering, finance, sales, marketing, legal, governmental, and more.
Our first major products are PLDB.com and CancerDB.com, but we will launch others along the way, and continually innovate to generate not only better products but better business models.
We do not expect an easy fight, and we expect our competition to come at us from every angle. But we will not cower, and we will not stop building.
We are looking for the bold. Those with a bias for action. To be considered, send us a term sheet, a wire, or tweet about us publicly.
Thank you for your time. #BuildPublicDomain

Our primary revenue product will be CancerDB.com and the model is something never done before. Launch is soon.
The National Cancer Institute estimates over $200 Billion is spent on Cancer care in the USA each year. The results are poor. We will lower the death rate from cancer in the USA 50% by 2027. We believe we could generate $1 Billion in revenue to do that.
We are already selling. Our model and go to market strategy will be visible post launch.
About 40 people have actively worked with us for a month or more, between regular volunteers and paid contributors. About ~7 of these people have urgently needed skillsets to bring on full time.
Our founder is Breck Yunits, a prolific angel investor who in the past was Senior Software Engineer at Our World in Data, Research Associate at University of Hawai'i Cancer Center, Software Engineer at Microsoft, Co-founder of Nudge Inc. (acqui-hired by Microsoft in 2014), Mozilla WebFwd Alum, 2x YCombinator alum, former software engineer at Lab Zero, and 2007 B.S. in Economics from Duke University.
This is going to be hard. We need allies and a war chest.
We plan to direct list on OTCQB in 2023. The founder will be subject to a 4-year lockup and initial investors will be subject to a 2 year lockup. Once our main objectives are achieved, the founder plans to retire to run his lifestyle business, FunnyTombstones.com, and at that point the shareholders and employees can decide to monetize the company as they see fit, selling cigarettes or dolphin meat for all he cares. It is hoped that Public Domain Publishing Inc. survives long enough to see itself become the villain.
No.
Our priority is to give retail investors access to a risky bet with a lot of upside.
Breck Yunits has invested approximately $500,000-$1,000,000 into Public Domain Publishing Inc. R&D from February 2021 to present.
Between $1.2M and $12M, depending on demand and price.
Then Breck funds it himself indefinitely.

We have various other products experiencing product-market fit and will figure out business model(s) that work. We will not be stopped and we will not give up.
We will continue to bet the entire company over and over again on the next big order-of-magnitude risk until our objectives are accomplished. If you do the math, this means we will eventually be a company measured in billions or go bust. A sensible hedging strategy for our investors might be to sell ~10% of holdings every time we achieve a ~10x increase in size.

December 18, 2022 — A company is just a name, some bank accounts and legal documents, maybe a ticker symbol, and some rows in some databases. None of those things are important to me.
What is important to me is our mission. Our mission is to help build a world where every child has access to the whole truth.
People are starving for the whole truth. Everywhere they are being locked down, brainwashed with ads, injected with lies. They see the symptoms. They know something is wrong. They want to know the cause.
The cause is Information (C)ancer, otherwise known as (C)opyright. It has metastasized and spread to all our information organs: books, newspapers, music, radio, television, scientific journals, the web. (C)opywrong laws restrict the truth from spreading, and give a competitive advantage to liars.
We must disrupt that. This is the war of our times—the war to liberate ideas, to mine, unlock, and share truth, to eradicate Information (C)ancer.
We are only here because of the heroes who have been fighting this war for decades. The builders behind public domain creations like the World Wide Web. Their mission mission is our mission. Together let's build a world where every child has access to the whole truth.

December 18, 2022 — Aloha! Welcome to the team! We don't have titles here. We have a mission, customers, and jobs to be done.
Everyone here is great at a least one thing—that's why you are here. You are expected to excel at that one thing, but also to continue to grow your own abilities so you can help the team with more tasks as needed. You are also expected to always be thinking of how you can make yourself dispensable - by mentoring, recruiting, automating, et cetera. Your job in addition to shipping your tasks is to make sure we can succeed in our mission without you.
Here are the main things to be done. The more skills you learn the more work we will have for you.

We plan to direct list on OTCQB in 2023. In order to discourage short-term investors from participating, the founder and all investors will be subject to a multi-year lockup. After that, it is likely the company will use profits for stock buybacks, as we don't anticipate a better investment opportunity than our own company. Once our main objectives are acheived, the founder plans to retire to run his lifestyle business, FunnyTombstones.com, and at that point the shareholders and employees can decide to monetize the company as they see fit, selling cigarettes or dolphin meat for all he cares. Our commitment to every member on the team is to provide the ambitious (IC track) an 1) environment where they can do their best work and develop their skills to become so good the world cannot ignore them or 2 (managerial track) a 2) zen like environment where they can do great work around their own schedules.
Our first major products are PLDB.com and CancerDB.com, but we will launch others along the way, and continually innovate to generate not only better products but better business models.

It is hoped that Public Domain Publishing Inc. survives long enough to see itself become the villain.

While some thought the 500 year old newspaper industry was on its last legs, the revolutionary software from Public Domain Publishing will ensure it has at least another 500 years ahead of it. Public Domain Publishing invented the most important fundamental technology in decades, which is already revolutionizing the fields of computer science and cancer research. Building on that technology, the company developed Scroll, a breakthrough new language that leaves all previous technologies used by newspapers in the dust.
These partnerships will raise the bar across the newspaper industry and deliver significantly more useful and more trustworthy information to communities around the world, not only improving discourse but increasing the efficicency of economic activity.
Pricing is based on a simple model using the population and per capita data on the region of interest. Minimum commitment is 1 year. For a price quote, email franchise@pd.pub.
We also make blogging software called Scroll, a data visualization studio called Ohayo, a newspaper called the Long Beach Pub, and a music label called Music of a People.
